CU Scarborough is throwing its support behind Hull Kingston Rovers RFC with a sponsorship deal for the 2018 season.

The partnership means that each time the Betfred Super League team scores a try, the words ‘CU Scarborough – a unique university experience’ will be heard across KCOM Craven Park accompanied by CU Scarborough’s ‘I love it’ theme.

The deal will also include programme advertising, fan competitions and involvement in Hull Kingston Rovers’ JP Business Club.

Based on the Yorkshire coast, CU Scarborough is part of the Coventry University Group and primarily is involved in creating industry-ready graduates to meet the needs of the local region.

It attracts a number of students and employers from the East Yorkshire region and, by sponsoring Hull Kingston Rovers, is showing support for the east coast community while hoping to share in the success of the team as they return to the top-flight.

Steven Knowles, Head of Marketing at CU Scarborough, said: “CU Scarborough is working to bring high-quality, cost-effective university education to our coastal region.

“We are committed to creating the next generation of highly skilled employees for the industries and areas they are in demand.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Hull KR for 2018 – a year we hope will be hugely successful for both organisations!”

Hull KR CEO Mike Smith added: “We’re delighted to be starting this new partnership with CU Scarborough. It’s always exciting when a new sponsor wants to work with us and we’re looking forward to striking up a positive relationship with them for the benefit of our local communities.

“We certainly hope to see the team running in plenty of tries at KCOM Craven Park this season so we can hear as much of CU Scarborough’s try stings as possible!”
